When we started planning our most recent Disney trip, I knew that we would be visiting Hollywood Studios, and that Jedi Training was going to top our list of must-dos.  Researching in the weeks leading up to the trip though, made me a little nervous about how high the demand was.  Luckily, we were able to secure a spot, and I am so glad we did, it will definitely be one of mine and my kids favorite memories from Hollywood Studios.

Here is my Ultimate Guide to Jedi Training

What it is
A mix between a live action show and a role playing activity.  Children will be dressed as Jedi’s and trained in the use of The Force as well as light sabers as they battle against Darth Vader and a seventh sister.

Who Can Take Part
Children between the ages of 4 and 14, who are able to answer a few basic questions on their own.

How to Sign Up
You need to show up early, before the gates are open and be prepared to rush to the Indiana Jones Adventurers Outpost store just beyond 50’s Prime time and pre-register your child.  When I say early, i dont mean 3 minutes before the rides start, the gates will open at least 15 minutes before the rides start and you want to be at the front of the crowd that walks in. I recommend leaving at least a 30 minute gap.Your child will need to be present at the time of registration. We ran straight for the outpost as soon as we were allowed and there were already at least 150 children in front of us, I cannot stress enough how popular this experience is with young Padawan.  At the front of the line you will be given a time to come back as well as fast passes for your whole family as a thank you for taking part.  The Fast-Pass is good for every ride, EXCEPT Toy Story.
{Pro Tip} Give yourself an edge on the crowd by booking a character breakfast at 8:00 am inside Hollywood studios, that will have you in the park before the crowds, and hopefully at the front of the line

The Experience
The training starts at the Outpost where you signed your child up, they will be fitted with their official {loaner} jedi robes, and briefed in a few basics before the official procession through the park to the “temple” located right beside Star-Wars- The Adventure Continues ride.  Once there your children will meet their Jedi masters and begin training.  I’m not going to give it all away but there are many different star wars elements woven through the training that will keep fans both old and young excited the whole time.

Its a Little Scary
My youngest child that was allowed to participate, was 5, and there was one moment where it was a little intense for her, she stood her ground though, and faced her fears { facing fears is the main theme of the training} and was very proud of herself that she didnt run.

You get a Symbol of your Training
Once your child has completed their training they get a special Jedi pin to add to their collection.
